DLA to PIP

I am still on DLA and wondering when the PIP invite letter will arrive. Anybody know if it will be this year, next or who knows?

Thanks

It could be anytime from now. My advice would be to start gathering your evidence now to save time when the letter does arrive.

Thanks. Yeah I have started to request copies of consultant letters.
  • It should in theory happen before the end of this year.

I am in limbo too.. still on DLA and expecting a swap.. DLA is indefinite so no clue in the end date but I am expecting a swap to PIP sometime. I wish they would tell us when this will happen.

I wonder about filling the form in slowly now so all i have to do is update it when the time comes, my condition is pretty stable and some things dont change. Last time i looked though the form was still paper based so it would all be typed in word, numbered, hole punched and tied to the questionnaire.

I am fluctuating between sticking head in sand and hoping it doesn't happen and wanting to be super organised in case form turns up in a 'bad patch' where paperwork isnt an option.

I'd go for being organised. Get medical reports, social work reports, bills for any additional care needs (I pay a private company for care plus private counselling and the tribunal found the bills helpful as evidence of my needs).

Get it now and sit on it, doctors can take a while to do letters and you only have a very strict 28 days to fill in your form and send it back. I found the process very quick once it was started. Form in December, "medical" in January decision in March, tribunal in June. I was running about like an idiot trying to get evidence and DWP have refused to release my DLA file.

For me the whole process has been hell from start to finish and has sent my stress levels through the roof! 13 days left for the DWP to decide if they will appeal my award so I'm sitting quiet then hitting them with a complaint to the ombudsman.

Sounds a nightmare! Why did they refuse to release the DLA file? I just got all my information from the DWP- was hell of a paper mind! Surprised I was not charged.

I have the habit of requesting from my GP letters any consultant has sent to him. So far they have not charged me. :) Just write a letter asking for the recent letter from Dr... and they phone within 48hours to say ready to collect. Moving to a new GP and the do not do ANY letters for ANY purpose as they are not contracted. Basically not got the time. However the Subject Access Request avenue is something they can't refuse ;)

They told me they posted it on the day of the tribunal first class to my home address. It never arrived so I called to chase it for future reference and they won't send another. I'm not making too much fuss until 28 days after the tribunal.

As for why the file wasn't available for tribunal - well I asked twice and they forgot.

Be worried where it has landed up. Mines all arrived recorded delivery so hopefully they can trace it since it contains so much personal detail!

I did ask them where they sent it as they sent a reply to my complaint to "anyhill road" when I live at "anywood road" and when I pointed this out in a follow up they didn't even apologise. They also keep writing a different surname on my correspondence which sounds like my name but isn't!
