Sounds a nightmare! Why did they refuse to release the DLA file? I just got all my information from the DWP- was hell of a paper mind! Surprised I was not charged.

I have the habit of requesting from my GP letters any consultant has sent to him. So far they have not charged me. :) Just write a letter asking for the recent letter from Dr... and they phone within 48hours to say ready to collect. Moving to a new GP and the do not do ANY letters for ANY purpose as they are not contracted. Basically not got the time. However the Subject Access Request avenue is something they can't refuse ;)

I have always found it easier to request consultants to provide you with a copy of any letters they write about you, in fact our hospital do that as a matter of policy now.

My hospital refuses to do it. I asked the receptionist at one of my specialists and she said it was 'some department at (another site)', but couldn't tell me what the department was. Even PALS couldn't find out what it was.

I'm just going to pay a tenner a couple of times a year to get copies from my GP. Which is annoying because if there's something in that I need to know I won't find out for months.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Our local health board won't send letters written at the request of the DWP as they don't form part of the medical record.
  • My DLA expires september, just sent the Pip form back this week. I get low rate care dla for bipolar but don't think I'll get anything under PIP.

I am in limbo too.. still on DLA and expecting a swap.. DLA is indefinite so no clue in the end date but I am expecting a swap to PIP sometime. I wish they would tell us when this will happen.

I wonder about filling the form in slowly now so all i have to do is update it when the time comes, my condition is pretty stable and some things dont change. Last time i looked though the form was still paper based so it would all be typed in word, numbered, hole punched and tied to the questionnaire.

I am fluctuating between sticking head in sand and hoping it doesn't happen and wanting to be super organised in case form turns up in a 'bad patch' where paperwork isnt an option.

Hi, i did read many moons ago that people on " indefinite awards"
would be the last to be moved to PiP.
