HELP!! How can I get my credit score to Good?

My credit score was massed up about a year ago when I accidentally missed three phone bills in a year, and HSBC closed my current account in a sudden.
Then I applied to Santander for a current account in June 2015, but they rejected me said my "Credit score is not high enough". That was the first time that I heard about credit score. But Santander gave me a Basic Account with which I can deposit money, withdraw money from ATMs, and make on-line transfer to others' account (not on-line purchasing though).
I have about £2000 income went into my account every month, and my mobile phone bills was taken by direct debit from the same account. Last Christmas, after six months using this basic account, I aaplied with Santander again for a regular current account, but they rejected me again, still said I didn't have enough credit score.
I didn't make any further applications, and opened the Experian account to have a look at my credit report. Only two negatives I have are enrolled with electoral roll and don't have a credit history. I can't do nothing about this two yet as I'm not a British citizen. And my credit score hasn't moved for three months.
I REALLY need to get the score from Fair (725-ish right now) to Good (800?)!
Has anyone had similar experience please? Any of the credit building credit cards are good? On-line reviews of those card freaked me out. It feels like I can't even trust the barcleyscard credit building card.
Anyone has managed to rise their score from fair to good please?
PLEASE Kindly advise!!!:(:(:(

A few missed payments won't hurt your credit rating long term, the main issue is electrol roll you can add a notice of correction to your file to explain why you are not able to register, which might slow down application 's but it's better than outright rejection, the number of the score is not important it's how the accounts are managed that matters,
You may also need to check equifax and call credit, reference agencies0 -

You really don't. The score is irrelevant and no one sees it but you.
Santander are referring to the score they have given you internally, who you can't see.
Electoral roll, lack of history and the missed payments are counting against you.
Why did HSBC close your account? That is the most worrying thing here. Check CIFAS focused if there are any markers against you, eg fraud.
You could try for a sub prime credit card - aqua or Vanquis. If you get one, use it regularly and clear in full each month.
But you may struggle even with those for a while.
Stop focusing on the Experian score. It's more meaningless than you could possibly imagine, and you don't want to make any decisions on how that does or doesn't move.0 -
Why did HSBC close your account suddenly? If this was for fraud then you have much bigger problems than your credit 'score'!
Are you from the US? Credit scores work very differently here.£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000
LBM 28/1/15 total debt - [STRIKE]£23,410[/STRIKE] 24/3/16 total debt - £7,298

Who told you that you need to get it go 'good'?
They are lying to you.0 -
Just because Experian advertise telling you that you need to pay them to get a credit score. It doesn't mean that you actually do need one. It's just to make you feel better and to enrich their coffers.
As others have said, the only thing that matters is what is contained in your credit history. Which is an entirely different thing to a "made-up" credit "score" from a company that dos not lend money.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
I totally have no ideas why HSBC closed my account.
I did nothing wrong other than those three late payments. And they won't let me know the reason.
Do you think there were other reasons?0 -

It's just me thinking getting into GOOD will be safe for me when applying for a CURRENT account with any bank. Guess I am just assuming things here.0 -

It seems like CIFAS provides reports only related to fraud.
Is there any other resources to check why HSBC closed my account please?0 -

You are assuming things.
For a bank to close an account takes some doing, you're clearly very high risk.
What the CRAs view you as has no bearing on how the banks do.0 -
It has past 12 months since HSBC closed my account, and 6 months since Santender refused my application for a current account last time. Do you think if I apply for another bank, they are more likely to give one?
My goal is just to get a normal current account. What else I need to do at this point to get one please???
I am not in debt. I have savings. But no one wants to open me a current account. It is so unfair. T_T0
