3 early upgrade - is this a good deal?

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S6, due for upgrade March 2017 with 3, currently paying £38 per month for unlimited data etc. OH has an old S3 mini with Talk Talk , and we have PAC code ready to upgrade.

We were going to get a Samsung Galaxy A3 for OH, on a contract with 3 for £16 per month, for 300 mins and 1GB data.

I have just had a phone call offering me an early upgrade to S7 - same package as I am currently on for £55 per month. I have got them down to £40 per month for a package with 4GB data (enough for my usage). If I accept this then OH can have my S6, and take out SIM only 12 month deal for 2GB data etc, which is £5.50 per month for 6 months then £11 per month for 6 months (£8.25 per month average).

I was perfectly happy with the S6 until I had this phone call, but now thinking I want the S7!!

Is the deal I have been offered a good one? I think it would be better for OH to have my S6 rather than A3, seems a better phone.

I would appreciate any comments or advice
