Accusing them of racism is an easy card to play. However, it is most likely that the electronic ID system they use is giving a failure. The person on the phone at the bank wont know the failure reason. Just that it has failed.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. As a representative of Tesco, I would like to formally assure you, Mr Osama bin Pinochet-Hitler Mc'Castro, that your name has no bearing on our selection process...

Though this opinion may well change in a couple of weeks.
Interesting list though, Pinochet is the obvious exception as he has been to the uk.
I liked the joke that given he stayed on the went worth estate the other residents complained, they all thought he was far too left wing.0 -
Try opening a current account then a saving account0

@Ed-1 back in november when they first rejected me I got a generic letter saying I didn't meet the criteria for either the current account or savings account.
I am waiting to formally receive the letter for this second rejection. Bunch of asian hating racists! :@
Did you manage to open an account successfully in the end?0 -

Hmm well you would think I would be stuffed then because my name is french/Belgian, yet no it's not hindered me so far 😎 strange huh? And I too have a tesco account internet savings type.63 mortgage payments to go.
Zero wins 2016 😥0 -

Some people are simply too much bother to want to have as customers. Trade is a two way relationship. Time wasters never go done well.0 -
@missprice Ah but missprice, does your name sound like a terrorists? My name is not of European origin. I think that may make me more prone to blacklisting than your presumed caucasian name? If your name is not european/typically white, then I would take your example as a counter example.

@Thrugelmir Some banks are too
I won't bother ever applying again. Two rejections is enough. Tesco has made it plenty clear it is not interested in my custom.
I still believe this country is racist in all aspects of life from banking, the judiciary, the work place and in sport. The post Brexit racism spike just reinforced this for me0
