  • No cons that I know of.
It is a beach holiday but also has many historical sites. There is loads of sightseeing.
Great shopping not just all the fakes but the real shops as well eg leather shoes and gold jewellery.
    Great food as well.

It's a subject that's been touched on before.
Some people love the place - others, myself included, liked the country but found Turks, particularly Turkish men,to be rude and arrogant.
We were hassled constantly throughout our entire fortnight to either buy stuff or eat in restaurants and eventually just found the whole thing a bit of an ordeal.
I suppose it all depends on your personal holiday experience and whilst it's somewhere I found interesting it's not a place I would go back to.
Greece,on the other hand, has similar scenery to Turkey but it's people are much friendlier.
I'm sure other posts following this will beg to differ.

There's something for everyone in Turkey, I loved the place and I wouldn't hesitate to go back there. However, if you can't handle the bartering then I'd say that it's not the place for you. I personally find that the bartering is the best part of my holiday, but each to their own. I don't do the beach thing or sitting by the pool so I can't advise on that. There's loads of excusions which are a lot of fun - Turkish bath, mud bath, diving, jeep safari ....
  • Muslims pray five times a day. The earliest is at dawn and the latest is a couple of hours after dusk. Turkey has a Muslim majority and therefore has the Muslim 'alarm clock' of the call to prayer when it is time.

I personally find it a moving experience to hear the call to prayer ringing out from many different mosques at the prayer time.

when i first went turkey 96 they where dragging us off the street, to get us in the shops and resturants. it has cooled down. then early 2000s they still hassled you to buy, they even joke hassle hassle. i went two years ago, i could look but if i didnt by we would get abuse. swearing and stuff. i went 2004 with my friend. worse mistake every where we went hassle , they just wanted sex all the time. went into one shop went to buy some clothes, they didnt want money they wanted five minutes with me out the back in the store room. when i go with my man and family no hassle as im with him and they know it.......... they can be forward, you will get used to it after a while, its not everyones cup of tea......
i will be debt free, i will
  • I have never read so much rubbish in all my life.
The men in Turkey are the same as every other country in the world, if they see a young lady on their own (or with another female friend) they will try it on.
    All Nationalities are the same.
