Used car - 3 yrs old & 3 services?
Comments

service intervals - varies between makes and models, I would hazard a guess this one is every x miles or 12 months whichever comes first, Normal, no cause of panic,
Mileage discrepancy of 100 miles, Could be anything, as above someone wrote 16000, cba to check,
Lets face it if someone was going to rewind * i dont think that actually possible these days without switching clocks etc) there going to do it more than 100 miles,
If its three years old, obviously been looked after , think your trying to find a problem that isn't there so perhaps not the car for you,0 -

It was changed to smooth out car sales through the year with March and September chosen to actually avoid the show-off element.
Thanks for that - perhaps we shouldn't have any year indicator at all then.
Perhaps then folks would buy cars when they felt the time was right rather than wait for a 'new' plate.

If it was sold used by Skoda it probably had one of it's services at the point of sale as a used vehicle which explains why it has had the extra service. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

We've got some leased 65 plate VW caddy vans at work on "variable" service intervals...the van flashes up when it needs a service.
One has just had it's first service/oil change at... 19000 miles!
As its leased you wont give a monkeys, but for longevity in privately owned vehicles i definitely wouldnt be leaving the oil in there for 19,000 miles, no matter what the service booklet says.0 -
As someone said, it's a 63 plate and registered in mid-Dec 2013. I don't know the dates of the service but will check this when I go to see it (it's in transit from another branch at the moment).
It has had two previous owners (I'd be 3rd) so that may explain the services.
The hpi check records mileage of 11,400 in June 2014, which I'm guessing was the first service??? Then in Feb 2015, the national mileage register records 16,100miles. Two days later, the dvla records mileage of 16,000 - a drop of 100miles.
If you're that suspicious that a discrepancy of 100 miles worries you, I think buying a used car isn't for you. Just buy brand new and you won't have any worries over history or mileage. You'll also be saving the used car industry a whole load of hassle and headaches.0 -

Absolutely! My old Saab gets an oil change every 6-7000 & is still going at 170,000+
On another note, the cambelt on one of the other Caddys we have decided to let go at..... 15,639 miles, Ouch!Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
I have a car with 3 month or 3000 mile servive intervals. Whichever comes first.0
