Used car - 3 yrs old & 3 services?

Robisere, it's a skoda fabia estate, 1.2engine, petrol.
I think it seems excessive to have had 3 services for such low mileage. I did a hpi check and it is flagged up as a mileage discrepancy so I'm now getting even more twitchy. Think this one may not be for me.
So do I. If it was bought new in Dec 13 then I would have expected services at Dec14 and Dec 15. When were the services carried out?You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friend's nose.0 -
His post doesn't make sense. It's either a 13 plate or it was registered in Dec 2013, which would make it a 63 plate. What is it OP, when was the car first registered?Rain_Shadow wrote: »So do I. I'm looking at a car that's a Dec 2013 plate and it's had three services, I'm told. This surprises me as it's got mileage of under 17,000.
Should I be worried that there's a problem? His post doesn't make sense. It's either a 13 plate or it was registered in Dec 2013, which would make it a 63 plate. What is it OP, when was the car first registered?
Makes perfect sense. It's a Dec 2013 plate, so its a 63 regYou can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friend's nose.0 -
It's probably been serviced twice by the previous owner then recently by the dealer before they put it on their forecourt.
Have you checked when the services took place and compared this with the recommended service schedule for the car? Even if it has been serviced more frequently than required, this is not a problem.0 -

I think he means it doesn't make sense because as a low mileage car it would likely be serviced once a year.
Dec 2014 1st Service
Dec 2015 2nd Service
Dec 2016 3rd Service
As it isn't Dec 2016 yet then it seems unlikely it has had three annual services.0 -

Why can't we have simple, easy to understand numberplates in this country?
If we must have a year indicator why not 16 for the whole of 2016 - 17 for the whole of 2017 and so on.
I see it as a government and car sales industry con to boost sales as well as being a 'show-off' element for those who like that type of thing - "Yah Boo, look - my car is newer than your's." sort of nonsense.0 -
As someone said, it's a 63 plate and registered in mid-Dec 2013. I don't know the dates of the service but will check this when I go to see it (it's in transit from another branch at the moment).
It has had two previous owners (I'd be 3rd) so that may explain the services.
The hpi check records mileage of 11,400 in June 2014, which I'm guessing was the first service??? Then in Feb 2015, the national mileage register records 16,100miles. Two days later, the dvla records mileage of 16,000 - a drop of 100miles.0 -

TBH that could well be someone thinking 'It's 16,000 something, I'll just put 16,000 because I cba to go and look at the exact figure'You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friend's nose.0 -

There used to be only one change a year, in August. But at the time it was said it caused issues as anyone who was going to buy a new car mid-year waited until August, so there were not many sales in May, June and July and then a mad rush in August.
It was changed to smooth out car sales through the year with March and September chosen to actually avoid the show-off element. One man's folly is another man's wife. Helen Roland (1876 - 1950)0
