Are you sure your policy was actually "cancelled"? Do you actually have this in writing?

It looks odd that they would cancel your policy, yet happily have you back as a customer immediately at the same premium???

Yes fortunately I only signed up to the Expedian free trial & will cancel before the 30day period

You obviously missed the not-too-subtle hint from ZX81, it's not Expedian, it's Experian.

    Sorry, just to clarify

I was with insurer A... They quoted me £1,200 renewal (policy would auto cancel if I don't get in touch) by policy end date

In meantime I went onto Confused.com & found a quote for £900. Paid with my dads card online. But when I called- that's when they said they've had to cancel policy & refund the money back into his account due to failed check

So I ended up going back to insurer A (was still insured) stil renewal date wasn't up. I asked if they would match a quote elsewhere.

They then asked me to show proof of my other quotes which I did. Hence insurer A charged me £900

So based on that- do u think it's even officially on record that I've had insurance declined?

I've had mixed answers elsewhere- but most agree if it was a quote and u were rejected then no that does not stay on record

But since they did deposit the amount and refunded following day/ that's on record as "policy cancelled" you agree ?

    Many thanks again

    Ps

@agrinnal, thanks I'm aware it's experian/ my iPhone auto corrects as Expedian

If you are concerned that the policy was "cancelled" you need to get it clarified (in writing) from the insurer who cancelled it.
  • Thanks! So other than checking the three CRA's, there's no way for us mortals to check their shared insurance database to show any cancelled policies?

Would it show on CUE (claims & underwriting)

As previously posted, CRAs don't have details of cancelled insurance policies.

    Won't show on CUE.

Get it in writing from the insurer who cancelled you rpolicy whether this has gone on your record as a "cancelled Policy"
  • Will do Quentin, thanks again for all the prompt advice and everyone else!
