Barclays, as they have provided me with a full auth debit card with contactless, credit card and I find their internet banking to be one of the best.

No issues with Lloyds although they seem stricter with lending in my opinion.

    Lloyds pay me interest

I don't have any accounts with Barclays

    So I prefer Lloyds

Hope that helps, though I wonder what possible use this information could be to you?

Barclays, no account with them, but my 17 year old g'son has had an account with them since his dad created it when he and his 19 year old sister were very small. Sis has left for TSB, but gs has had excellent treatment from Barclays, even to the point of asking him in at 16 and expalining banking to him for when he gets older.

For me (& gs) it's more about service than just interest rates, etc. Gs says, if they have treated me like an adult while I am a minor, I will see how they look after my money when I am an adult.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

I would have to say Barclays, they have a very good app and are always the first (most of the time) with new stuff.

They treat you very well in branch.

I would not touch Lloyds, they own Halifax and they are one of the worst banks going, from personal experience. I tried to open an account with them, Lloyds, they could not even get that right.

I left Barclays because they closed my local branch.

    A comparison,

You go into Barclays, How are you Mr XXX, how can I help you.

You go into Halifax, Stone face..............

I know its a small thing, but it really P's me off if they are rude. Considering this is three Halifax branches, it can't be a one off.

Lloyds banking group staff always seem stressed or miserable.

Ivebeen with Lloyds for over 30 years and, while I might moan about them now and then, by and large the experience hasn't been bad. My experience of Barclays however, totally different.
Had a current account with them in the 80s when I was bringing up two children on my own, working full time and paying a mortgage. Totally unsympathetic and unhelpful which is why I transferred to Lloyds.
Now I have a savings account with Barclays, due to the fact that they bought out ING who I was happy with. Barclays admin is total cr--p, their telephone people read from a script and hardly speak English, really bad customer support. Just general lethargy stops me from changing.

    Enough of these stupid polls!

    So far you've asked:-
    Lloyds or Natwest?
    Yorkshire, Lloyds, Natwest or Nationwide?
    Barclays or Lloyds?

And I imagine they've all been inconclusive, as everyone wants something different from a bank and you have never said what you needed. There is no Right Answer, get over it.

The sooner they stop noobies from starting polls till they understand the forum the better.
