Hi,
During 2015/16 I have paid £1100 to Charities which they also claimed 20% Gift Aid. I understand I deduct gross payment of £1320.
My income is £19100
Other income for myself £800
Other income for my partner - £5200
Social Security Benefits - £2728
Total: £27828.
I have tried to renew my claim online but it does let me amend my PAYE income.
Will it be acceptable if I deduct £1320 from other income?
Thanks
MS

I assume you mean it doesn't let you amend the PAYE income?
Don't think it matter where you deduct it from as the overall affect is the same and I assume you would have the proof of requested.0 -

It doesn't matter where you deduct it from as DS says.
Are you an auto-renewal case? (meaning you only need to take action if there is something wrong)

I am in similar situation and renewing tax credit online. I give a charity £300 a year and charity claim gift aid on it too.
My Income on p60- £20000
Partner income on p60- £4000
So, How do I declare my income when renewing tax credit? Shall I just deduct £300 from £20000 and declare my income is £19700?0 -

Thank you, in fact I was reading this now. But what I cant figure out where the amount should be deducted from? Thats what is confusing me...
Like for example from my screenshot s33.postimg.org/iuc684b9r/Untitled.png it says to enter income from P60. But nowhere it says where to deduct the Giftaid donation, nor it gives an option to deduct in the later steps.....0 -

If your employment income is your only income then you deduct it from that.0 -

I can't see the screen shot - but as DS says just deduct it from the employment income. It should say you can make deductions as there are work expenses and SMP amounts you can also deduct.

No its not auto-renewal case. I have income from property so it has to be renewed either with estimated or actual other income minis £300. I will deduct the charity payments from the other income.
Yes I have proof of charity payments made. I use CAF (Charity Aid Foundation) and they send me regular statements + payments made on just-giving I have email confirming amount paid and Gift aid claimed.0 -
If you give £1100 gift aid then you deduct £1375 (divide by 0.8). See the TC825. You're supposed to deduct from boxes "in the order on your form".0
