Can anyone help me find a (relatively) cheap flight to the US?

Hi all

Someone found me a cracking return flight to Florida last year so I thought I would ask again

I'm looking to fly to the US and am willing to consider any destination, although the further west the better. Dates between 28 July and 15 August but max 7 nights.

Leaving from anywhere in the UK from BHX northwards (preferably Scotland or Manchester).

Cheapest I've found so far is £440 from Glasgow but this is to Montreal.

Has anyone found anything better?

I'm confused
Do you want to fly to the USA? (As I'm sure you must know, Montreal is in Canada not the USA and is not in the west of North America))

I'm aware of where Montreal is. That's why I said 'but' the cheapest flight I found was Montreal. Given that I can easily drive to the US from Montreal/Toronto/Vancouver etc I mentioned this as a viable flight. It was found using an ITA matrix search (i.e. searching for JFK and including airports within 2000 miles!).
