Sorry my mistake about letter. I've edited my post above. The letter obviously relates to the change from Regular Saver rate to normal savings account rate.

TSB rang me today, about an appointment mix up and this person told me the rate for new accounts is to drop on Monday 27th June and not 30th,as I was told on Saturday. No new rate was given.
  • I began a TSB Monthly Saver on 1st December 2015. I love that it will pay 5% interest. I hope that it won't go down to 2% interest in the future.

indeed. as teddysmum further confirms, the word is that the rate offered is to drop.
no prob though, i use RSs if they pay a good rate, and if they don't i don't bother & have a slightly leaner simpler round robin to do early each month:).

Thanks everyone on this thread for the heads-up.

I was dithering for a while about opening this RS, thinking that I would first open a second Tesco current accont and then the TSB RS.

So I opened the TSB RS over the weekend thanks to this thread and now have the first 250 in there.

    Thanks :):)

Mine matures 30th June. So had the Mrs open one today just in case.
Many thanks to all even if the rate doesn't drop.

I got a letter saying it would revert to normal saver account nearly 10 weeks before maturity. Cant remember the rate as will be moving it so paid no attention.

I was in a branch today and said I'd noticed that the rate hadn't dropped, today, as someone in customer service told me .The lady who served me said the person probably mixed up her dates ,as the 5% lasts until June 30th.
