Am looking to create a Whatsapp gounp on a mobile phone (not my own) for a small hamlet/village where we've seen a recent increase in crime. My idea is anyone interested in knowing whats going on simply is added to the group, and anything unusual is reported and then text out to the whole group, so making everyone aware of whats going on. I dont want to use my own mobile and number for obvious reasons, whats the easiest/cheapest way to do this please?
Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated

Make sure Whatsapp is installed on the phones in question and is all registered - the users of those phones can actually use Whatsapp.
Open Whatsapp.
Select the 3 dots in the top RH corner.
Select the create group option.

Whatsapp categorically needs a phone number. BUT, it doesn't have to be the phone number of the device it's installed on.
E.g. you can install it on an Android tablet, then use another number to verify 'you' are you. This would then be the number people use. So, you can use a pre-pay SIM to get a number, then toss it away once you are setup on the tablet.
Essentially, you need to be able to receive the verification SMS
Seems like a painful exercise, why not just use your number?0 -
