The E or G or 3G etc will always disappear when you are connected to WiFi as phones default to it for data if available, so that bit isn't a problem. Can't help with getting a stronger signal. As others have asked, did you have a good data signal on your Experia with EE?0

To be honest, I dropped the Experia within days and broke it hence the impulse purchase of the second hand Levono.
BUT, today I have :-
Phoned Life Mobile and terminated my contract.
Purchased a new iphone and an ee sim only with 4g and am satisfied.
