Best sim only deal for me?
Used to be on the One Plan with Three but they changed it from £15 to £30 a month for me.
I hardly ever use it as have landline but if I am up town and forgot to make a call or need to phone to say Im late I use it, and use data only when travelling which is very rare but still like the option there.
So id like something like 1000 minutes a month(never once used that many often less than a quarter but again just in case) and ideally data of around 5 gig but again most months I may download under 500 megs as I disable data except when waiting for a bus or travelling just for browsing internet but if long journey or staying overnight somewhere with no internet like to watch a few youtube movies.
Id rather have unlimited data with a small cap of a few gig than a set amount that is fast, don't care about 4G.
Texts Id say 25-50 a month as have internet for emails anything more is a bonus but again I care more for a balance of data and minutes than anything else.

If you "hardly ever use it" then why do you require so many minutes and data on a monthly basis?
You can get SIM only plans for just £1 which will give you enough for emergency use.
I have several SIM only plans costing £0 per month giving me plenty of minutes, texts and data.
The free 200Mb data reward plan SIM from Three I put into a spare mobile/mifi dongle and tether it to a laptop when needed. Get a few (maximum five) of them and when you run out of data switch the SIM's. Use free wi-fi as much as possible.
For the rare occasion you need more data when staying away then you can top it up and get much more.
£15 will get you the 15GB Talkmobile 30 day SIM only contract with 2,500 mins and 5,000 texts.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

Just in case thats all really, I would say most months my usage of minutes is under 100 and data a few hundred at most its the rare time thats the problem.
I wanted contract as well only to help my credit rating.0 -
I'd go for the £1 contract with Vectone and take the 30 day contracts as and when you "need" them then. I don't think you should be paying any more than £4 per month for the minutes, texts and data that you regularly use (iD Mobile) and occasionally pay an extra £10/£15 with Three when you need more data when you stay away for a weekend.Just in case thats all really, I would say most months my usage of minutes is under 100 and data a few hundred at most its the rare time thats the problem.

The £4 offer

A contract does not help your credit rating. It makes no difference unless you pay it late.
Free 200MB data each month with top-up options with Three

ID mobile looks interesting, the £1 deal from Vectone seems a little too low for me, if I sent 10-20 texts in a month would mean if I am out in town for a few hours and bored I could use all the credit on one call
My usage really is that random, if I am in town and just have a hour to waste I can wait to make a call till I get home, if I am further away even if its just city centre and have a hour to wait to bus home I may want to call my parents when bored.
So I can go weeks with maybe 20 minutes of calls and next month will be 200, then 400 another month then 50 another.
That £7 sim may be perfect due to its rollover, would mean lets say I don't use any data at all this month would have 2 gigabytes next month which should be more than enough and means I have 500 minutes of calls, the double data thing is confusing for the £5 one, is the 1gb the normal or double data amount?
The other thing is hope theres one of those EE offers again would work out really cheap and I have a mifi for tethering (or a 4G phone I almost never use as weak speaker)
Oh and the calls I make are to my mother who uses Asda mobile, I guess Asda don't do free or extra free minutes to their own network as that way wouldn't need many minutes (100 at most) a month on top.0 -

Can't tether on GiffGaff, I got a sim of theirs last year and despite it being barely better than dial up anyway they blocked tethering.
The unlimited plans do not allow tethering but the ones with a limit do allow tethering.
The £20 goodybag has 6GB of tethering at full 4G speeds.:footie:

It's £3 less than you were paying so yes it's not bad.:footie:
