    HI All,

My pad for today is £17 please Jet. My last pay cheque as I'll be redundant in the next 2 weeks :eek::eek:

Erme - I too have MH issues, and it has really devastated any chances that I have had about being debt free over the years :( & then that makes my debt spiral even more, as I have spending sprees when I am having a depressive episode. But I have learnt to just take each day as it comes, and walk around using cash as much as I can, as online spending and balance transfers within the last 10 months, has contributed to about £7,000 of my debt. And realising that after 11 years on continual employment, I am leaving with debts of the same amount of my redundancy... that has been a sobering eye opener. But this forum and the 1% debt repayments thread has really helped.

I can't undo the debts, or forget the anxiety and depression that caused most of it, but I can slowly accept that I have these problems and take little steps to coping better. We can't budget in some respects, as it requires a consistency of mood and mindset to stick to it. So I think the aim is not to be too restrictive about budgets, but to be more aware of what triggers the relationship between MH and money.
    xx

    Welcome back Selene

Well done on the milestone Kirsty

Good to hear from you Erme and Keedie on mental health issues and debt. I work as a customer service advisor dealing particularly with vulnerable customers many of whom have mental health issues and have become increasingly aware of the correlation between mental health issues and money problems - I am in admiration for the way Martin is using his public profile and money to set up his foundation to help with this sort of thing.

Morning Paddingtons - are we all having a lie-in this morning? It's unusually quiet on here, there's usually a few early birds.

    Yesterday's total was £506.79
