My top tip is to let friends with older kids know you are receptive to any of their bits and bobs, I have a girl after a boy, and so it was lovely to be given bag after bag of girls clothing from a friend. I have barely shelled out a penny on clothes.
Get on gumtree and freecycle, street life and see what is going for nothing too.

So true...you are so going to have a great baby Sashybo (hope that's the right person?) and a major adjustment but you can so do parenting (even a new born) on a budget. I remember years ago when I was quite unwell, my best friend at the time made her own clothes (had hubby as a student doing a PhD and she was a SAHM) and a baby. Baby was practically weaned on baby rice. She fed me cheap digestives and I was so underweight at the time. That was coffee at her place :D. Me digestives, Baby (who is now 18 and eldest of 6) baby rice! Job done! on a budget!!!

Good evening everyone! Just a quick update. I have updated my signature below and after checking current finances i shall have to wait until payday before I can pay the remainder of the Barclaycard Debt off. However I am about to start on my last debt of which I have transferred to a Tesco CC with a 0% balance transfer and no fee. And I went through TCB to get £30 cashback! I am currently waiting for all the paperwork to come through and my balance transfer to complete then I shall update you all with that total! Thanks

How desperate do you want this llama ahall :rotfl:

I've just had income change and with a CAP money budget this means a lot of juggling. Haven't tried YNAB but the CAP one is good for me and free (you just need to go on a CAP money course)

So wrap up warm peeps - get a walk or some fresh air (tis free) and count thy blessings!!

    Have a good day

    Soon be Christmas :santa2:

Hi all, another £1 to the loan today, hoping for slightly more at the end of the week as it's payday on Friday. :j

Thanks Erme Yes you got the right person. :) Will try our best to keep the spends down and budget, just a bit overwhelming looking at all the "things" you're told you "need" to get for a baby.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.
  • Poor car is sick and in the car doctors garage :( Sounds like it may be a little expensive :( Savings are currently nil so it looks like I may have to put it on plastic .......:(

But that's ok kind of as I'll just have to PAD that away first before carrying on.

I'm going to only PAD £1.20 today into the savings pot please until I know the bill damage

On a side note what do people count payments to as their PADs? I know some people so savings/credit cards/ loans etc and some count their min payments and some don't but what about utility bills or rent for instance?
    Total Debt:
    Dec 2015: £20,090.87
    Dec 2016: £16,320.85

Hi white-as-snow, I don't count the change that I put in my savings tins, and my EF is now depleted so I just count payments to credit cards, and other debts. But I guess some bills are debts, like council tax etc that you are paying off slowly, or quarterly utility bills etc

Never had a baby so can't advise but I always thought No.1 on the list was love t4526.gif

and my financial crisis x2 yesterday and last night - new apron needed - gotten one from Dunelm for £3 - taken card off it and it's so thin!!! - back to JL - gotten a thicker one for £5 (reduced from £20) -

Now that was the end of the housekeeping :rotfl:

Then my hand blender dies when am making pancake last night (and I don't just use it for pancake - hand blender is best though for healthy home made mayo - sooooo easy!!!)

Don't want a £5 one from the supermarket - found one in sale which I pick up later :)

Spreadsheet is is possible we can still be friends? t5003.gif
