O/S Daily Thread for Tuesday 7th June 2016

There was much banging and rumbling above us this afternoon and I thought a cracking thunderstorm was imminent. Not so, we just had a few spits and spots! On the local news at 6.30 it said there had been flash floods about 6 miles away! Lucky escape for us! It still feels very muggy and clammy and the weatherman confirmed this had been the warmest day of the year so far for us - 79 deg in old money!

DD has been trying to talk us into another coach holiday in August,this time to the Isle of Wight, so that we can meet up with them and the crowd they go down with every summer for three weeks. I dissed the idea at first but am coming round to it a bit now and will browse a few websites shortly! Once of a day I would never have entertained a coach holiday but these days it's quite nice letting someone else do the navigating and driving!

Elaine one of my colleagues is adhering to Ramadan and we were chatting in the office about how long the fasting time is this year, something like 19 hours a day.

We still haven't had promised storms on the Lancashire coast, although it's cooler today

TA my allotment is full of greenfly this year, I've never seen so many.
