LAINEY - a big hug from me too. Animals can bring us such joy but when they start suffering pain this soon turns to heartache. I really feel for you and hope the nice physio can help Bill xx

Good Morning everyone the sun is out and the sky is blue(well ish :)) Today DGS Jack is doing his History GCSE.We had a long natter last night about his hopes for the future and he seems to have his head screwed on.A very sensible young man I think. I am going to make him his favourite Victoria sponge cake this morning as a treat :) we are all looking forward to his big brother Ben coming home from Uni at the weekend.
Tonight is quiz night so I don't need to cook as supper is provided, another bonus :)
Looks as though its going to be a nice day ahead as its warming up at the moment.
May make some melting moments biscuits as well for the other two boys as its awhile since I did any baking

Have a good day everyone what ever you are doing

Good morning one and all.

If the forecast is to be believed then today is the last of the good weather. Let's hope it lasts through until my GF's brothers wedding on Saturday.

Gers - I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew. Such a shame. Thoughts are with you.
camelot - I've been hearing a lot about the air rifle amnesty up our neck of the woods lately. Clearly not working.
JackieO - Good luck tonight at the quiz!
Lainey - Thinking about you. Hope things improve soon

Have a good day everyone.

Morning :hello:

I ended up in the garden for most of the day again, though I stayed in the shade most of the time. A few carrots have started to grow, the birds must've missed a few seeds :D The gaps in the veg patch have been filled with sprout plants and cabbages. One of the compost bins has been moved to it's new home next to the chicken run. I have a spare wheelie bin that's going to be used for storing pots, it's going to live next to the compost bin. I'll buy some reed fencing to screen them off.

A little blackbird flew into the side of the greenhouse yesterday, was dazed for a moment then panicked because it couldn't work out why it couldn't hop through the fence into the chicken run – I think it was aiming for the chicken feed :D There was a male watching, would that be the parent? I assumed once baby birds could fly about on their own, the parents left them alone. Anyway, mr tru lifted it onto the little fence and it went to join the chickens :D

All the lifting and bending over the last few days has caused pain in my hip. If it could talk, I'm sure it'd be yelling at me right now :D So no gardening for me for a couple of days. I'll go for a slow walk with Scampi then potter about at home. There's a barbeque at the cafe later this afternoon, I'm looking forward to it. Scampi is coming with us, if he stays calm and behaves he'll get a sausage :D If not, I'll bring him home and head back over there for an hour.

• Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, another sunny day, managed not to get any more sun on my sun burn. Did sit out for morning tea and lunch. OH decided it was too hot still to sit out for supper. He is bowling this afternoon, so will need plenty of sun screen on and water to drink, so he does not get dehydrated.

I have lost one of my quilting rulers, so am having a big clear up in my sewing room, no idea where it has gone unless it's fallen down the back of the table, or I have managed to pick it up in something else.

I finished the bag yesterday, pleased with it, it has turned out better than I expected. I had to pad the handles, the fabric was a bit light.

No plans for the day other than to clear up the sewing room and cook supper.

Good morning (just) everyone :hello:

Phew it's warm here today, I am hiding in the house as it's far too hot to sit outside. I had a lovely morning talking to my friend and now I am just planning what to do over the next couple of days.

I completely gutted the dining room yesterday and gave it a good clear and clean. I feel so much happier in here now as there was piles of stuff everywhere I looked and now it has all either been rehomed or thrown out. I am planning on clearing a couple of rooms a week until it's all done as we want to redecorate in the Summer and it will be a lot easier without all the rubbish and clutter.

We are having meatballs and spaghetti for tea I am having courgetti spaghetti instead. I am struggling to find the energy to cook a big meal in this heat, I think I will be looking into more meals that can be made in the slow cooker.

TravellingAbuela, I was sorry to read about your friend, sending you and Mr TA a hug and my condolences x

Lainey, I hope Bill gets the help he needs and enjoys more time with you.

Tru, I hope your hip improves and you are out of pain, and I hope Scampi behaves enough to claim his sausage :D.

I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Well done dumpling you seem to be getting on so well honey, good idea to do a bit at a time as well, that way you wo't get fed up of it.

I have been baking all morning, and now am sitting down at Dds having fed DGS Jack and his pal a large chunk of cake to help them recouperate from their exams this morning :)

Quiz night tonight which I always enjoy and tomorrow we have the AGM at our U3A plus a three year birthday celebration for our branch so a bit of a social as well.

Starting to cloud over a little bit here and the temperature only got to around 21c this morning so not really the blistering heat that everyone else is getting thank goodness, have a feeling I can hear thunder rumbling in the distance :)
Cheers JackieO xx

Evening all,

Nice day here again its so nice to have a bit of sun at last, very late posting for me, we woke this morning to find dd covered from the waist down in a sore raised rash, took her to the DR who said its some kind of an allergic reaction, she has been given an antihistamine which seems to have reduced it somewhat, will keep an eye on it for a few days.

Yesterday was quite eventful too, went up to the butchers and on the way back saw an elderly man collapse on the pavement, I pulled over and went to help, I had to call an ambulance he had been drinking but was struggling to breathe, a man stopped to help too, but its amazing the amount of people who asked if we needed help, most people are very kind :A

Spicy sausages for dinner tonight, I am quite regretting this decision now as its so hot !

Anyway hope you have all had good days xx

Evening all - it's so humid here. Temperature is still way up and the promised (or threatened) rain hasn't arrived yet.

I took the patient up to Oban hospital and then drove further up to Dunbeg for lunch at a lovely little garden centre overlooking the sea. I had the most enormous cream meringue for pudding even though I thought I wouldn't get through it! My woman didn't come out from her procedure until nearly 4p.m. so I wasn't home until about 5.15p.m. The day wasn't stressful for me so I was happy to help.

Before I left this morning I mowed the back garden, in anticipation of the rains of hell coming down. At least it's done for another 10 days or so. My wine order has arrived and is in the front barn, it can stay there until tomorrow now.

The breeze is cooling, the birds are chattering and I'm off to sit outside the front door for a sundowner.

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. Just a quick late visit from me. This month is Ramadhan and my family is fasting so you will see less of me at unusual times. It's funny, because although the fasting day is long, all we seem to do is shop cook. I will have to watch we don't over spend like previous years.

It's humid here. I hope it breaks although, I don't want the floods some poor people have received. I hope they are all ok.

I will catch up on the posts and perhaps edit accordingly. Got to dash, DD is training for her new job with wait rose and needs picking up at 8.30.

Hugs to those in need of one. Xxx
