BT Broadband. Do I need to talk to them to cancel due to price rise?

As the title. I am within 30 days of email telling me about price rise.
I don't really want to talk to them. Can I just switch by taking out another deal with another provider?

Yes if you want to cancel without paying the balance owed.
No if you want to cancel due to the price rise .
0800 800 030 .
Have you checked your offer in the email .
I find talking nicely to them and knowing what you want helps .
I phoned and said i believe the letter allows me to cancel .As i have see offers from BT for new customers that are a lot less and SSE are £23 all in etc etc .
Came back with a Infinity 1unlimited offer of £10 pm .
Phoning me back Tuesday to sort out discount on advanced line rental and discount on TV package .0 -
You have to call them so they can mark your account as no exit fee0

From the price rise email:And if you're within your minimum term and want to cancel, you'll need to give us a call within 30 days of getting this email to avoid paying a charge for leaving early.0

Ditto, we did the same and have now got Infinity 2 (already switched on) for £14 for 2 years !! Sold my sole for 2 years line rental, but as my work pay me £20 a month for broadband as a home worker figured it was worth it
Look for a link in your email listed as "bt.com/myprices" and if you click this you will see another link with your current offers. I will be ringing to hassle a TV offer closer to my actual contract date, I've already got a nice discount on that, but you can leave TV while still having Infinity so they will deal0 -
I started the switch away from BT, and then called them to get them to mark me as no-exit fee. They will try to persuade you to stay so be ready for that.0

I called BT last night to advise I was leaving, believing I was within the 30 days cancellation period - I was advised that I was outwith 30 days by 1 day as customers were advised of the impending pricing rise on 10th May. I re-checked my email, and BT sent me the email advising of the price change on 12th May. I called back and stood my ground - the BT advisor agreed to let me forward him the email to prove the date received, and BT have subsequently agreed I am within 30 days cancellation period.
It is worth checking the date you received your email if you wish to cancel, as BT call centre seem to be in possession of the incorrect facts about when customers were advised.0
