Still Building Control, who appear to be represented by LABSS.
It wasn't confused with planning - it was confused with the Building Regulations (a statutory document) which is what was referred to in a nonsensical context.the_r_sole wrote:TBF the op was easy to understand and at least they didn't confuse it with planning!0 -
In Scotland we have building standards - and technical handbooks for the regulationsStill Building Control, who appear to be represented by LABSS.
building standards officers deal with your queries, not building control - see we can all be pedantic!!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I already said that they are represented by LABSS - it is still Building Control though, by definition.the_r_sole wrote: »In Scotland we have building standards - and technical handbooks for the regulations

In fact if you visit http://www.labss.org/ the page title is "Local Authority Building Control".
Case proven again.0 -

must have missed that title while reading the bit that says...LABSS (Local Authority Building Standards Scotland) is a not-for-profit membership organisation representing all local authority building standards verifiers in Scotland. We are dedicated to protecting the public interest delivered by public sector expertise to ensure buildings are safe, accessible, dry and warm.
just because they haven't updated the tab title to the scottish terminology on one page of their website doesn't change their acronym :rotfl::rotfl:
what definition are you using for building control then? - your own no doubt, seems you are very confused by the local authority roles and names, maybe you should take some time out from pedantry and gain some on the ground experience to help with the interpretation side of it

Thanks all - particularly those who managed to interpret my question! It's my first experience with building control/regulations/approval/standards etc so appreciate it!0
