I thought the kids went back to school today.

OP, I hope those who live on your planet and understand you have been able to answer your question.:rotfl:

The bit you are missing is that he is from N Ireland, it likely differs
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

So what? If it is a cultural thing, why is Risteard telling so many of us we are wrong and can't even appreciate or articulate that he lives somewhere that may or may not be different?

It wasn't a polite comment, they patronised the OP whomwas asking for help, offered none, tried to patronise me, and then told someone else that they were wrong when they presented a LA Authority page which refers to 'Building Regulations Inspections'.

It has nothing to do with where Risteard comes from and everything to do with their petulance. It's like trying to play chess with a pigeon; it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and claims victory.

    Enough already.

Well I wouldn't have put it quite like that but.........I'd have surrendered my queen the moment the pigeon appeared, :D

You're the troll making pointless comments.

Building Regulations are precisely that - REGULATIONS.

They are NOT an enforcement body - that is Building Control.

I took the OP's comment of "never had building regs" to mean "wasn't checked for building regs compliance at the time".

Quite easy to understand really, and require the thread to be derailed quite so heavily.

You may consider it easy to understand, but it is a nonsensical statement nonetheless.

People should be encouraged to communicate clearly and correctly.

I could decide to refer to Building Control as the telephone directory but it would be inaccurate and would not aid understanding.

I'm not going to get into a long protracted argument with you just to boost your post count. It would appear to be clear to me and almost every other person on this forum that the OP meant building regs sign off.

Well done by the way, the OP doesn't appear to have come back after your warm welcome! You might want to click on the Forum Etiquette link at the top of the page. If people on this forum posted only ever in 100% correct terminology this forum would be

    a) already full of experts so nobody would ask for advice or discuss anything
    b) read like a statement of legal fact
    c) be really long winded and boring

I suppose in the spirit of good sportsmanship I should withdraw my troll comment as it was a bit juvenile, not withstanding that the aforementioned bridge has not been "inspected to make sure building regulations have been complied with".

So who would you speak to in Scotland?

TBF the op was easy to understand and at least they didn't confuse it with planning!
