DLA to PIP Question

I attended the dreaded assessment this morning and was pleasantly surprised to find it being done by a trained nurse. She said she had read my file and application yesterday and she was knowledgeable about my conditions and medication. We talked about how my problems affect me every day and then she wanted to check some movements of my arms and legs.
I asked her opinion on whether or not I stood a chance of getting anything awarded (as well as saying I understood it was not her decision), she said that while it wasn't her decision she certainly supports what I put in my application. I don't know if any stock can be put into that, quite probably not?
I still expect to have to go through a reconsideration and appeal, probably then followed by a new assessment soon after but I guess that is the cynic in me. I can say though it was a better experience than I expected and not as stressful as I thought, certainly a better experience than the home visit from a doctor that lied through his teeth the last time.
Now the wait for the decision letter begins.........0 -

Received a txt msg this afternoon from DWP saying they now had all the information they require to make a decision on my PIP application. Surely not as quick as that???0

I had a assessment at home yesterday morning - he did say he would write the report up that afternoon.
So who knows - maybe they have cleared the back log.
I put my form in 3 weeks ago - phone call on Monday of this week asking if I was ok with a home visit yesterday - I agreed to this even though I had not actually asked for a visit at home.
Hopefully things will move quicker for everyone.

No decision letter received as yet, I did get a letter dated 23 June that arrived on the 30th (1 week for delivery - really!) it just said sorry they had not made a decision yet but that they had all the information necessary.
So it has been 4 weeks now since the assessment. If it takes another 2 weeks I will get my July DLA payment for definite.
I didn't expect it to take this long if I am honest and I have managed to almost stop worrying about it now. It is stupid really as worrying won't alter the result and I just keep thinking that as each day goes by there is another day that I keep getting my existing DLA award.0 -
The long awaited decision letter arrived this morning and it is mixed news, although I believe a mistake has been made.........
The award letter states that I scored 8 points for daily living but have been awarded neither standard or enhanced rate! I have checked and scored as follows;
Preparing food - 2 points
Washing and bathing - 2 points
Managing toilet needs - 2 points
Dressing and undressing - 2 points
Am I missing a trick here? The award letter states:- If your total score for the daily living activities is between 8 and 11 you'll be awarded the standard rate. So surely I should have been awarded the standard rate???
The mobility section I was awarded 10 points and given the standard rate of mobility.
Also according to the letter my award is for an "ongoing" basis and it states the following;
"We will contact you while your getting PIP to see if your needs have changed and to look at the amount you get. This will be after 08 June 2026.
Is this normal and does it mean I can relax for the next 10 years without worrying about being called up again? I thought long term awards didn't happen anymore?
Either way according to their own paperwork I should be getting standard rate for daily living, so I will be ringing up on Monday morning. Knowing my recent look they will take another 2 months to tell me one of the points was incorrectly input and should be a zero!!!!0
