Thanks, that's certainly worth a thought.
A tad expensive at 14.99 but they reallly worth every penny and last ages. I have dropped metatarsals and a bunyon so I have to have soft tops and really soft shock absorbing soles
I bought a pairr of black Sketchers and they work a treatmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I also have plantar fasciitis and I have a pair of Skechers trainers with the memory foam insoles and a pair of smarter leather Skechers also with the memory foam insoles and both of them are absolutely amazing.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

Crocs....ugly but sooo comfy and designed so that only the sole is in contact with your foot (sounds ridiculous but they never fall off).
Actually, they're not all as ugly as they used to be, just found these on Google:-

I get a lot of pain in my left foot, but have been wearing shoes from Heavenly Feet for a year or so, and they have really helped due to the thick spongey insoles. I am now on my 4th pair. I get their Mary Jane style shoes, my last pair was called Scarlet3 I think.0

They look quite promising. I can't find a local stockist though and Shoetique seem to charge for returns plus they deduct the original postage - unless I'm reading it wrong?0 -
I sometimes buy mine via Amazon, but generally direct from Heavenly Feet. Direct, they are usually a couple of pounds dearer than Amazon, but it has always been free postage.0

When I saw a podiatrist for PF, he examined my feet, gait etc and he pointed me firmly towards Birkenstock sandals to wear around the house. I bought a pair a couple of years from Amazon, and after two weeks of absolute agony, my feet have never been better. I can wear normal shoes during the day without any issues and have nice comfortable Birkenstocks to come back to.
PS: measuring your feet is necessary to get the right fit as the sandal bed is hard cork. The initial 'agony' is down to the fact that it is your feet that have to adjust as the Birkenstocks won't.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I definitely need something soft & spongy to get me through the next 2 or 3 months til I have my op. I haven't got PF - I have something entirely different - midfoot arthrodesis is the name of the op.0 -
As an aside, I have found one thing which does ease my foot pain on particularly bad day. I keep a small bottle of frozen water in my freezer, and if the pain is particularly relentless I sit with my foot on top of the frozen bottle, sometimes rolling it back and forth. It really numbs it. I also have a golf ball in my freezer after reading that rolling a frozen golf ball under your foot can help, but I felt no benefit. Both of my feet look as though they've been put through a mangle, even though as a child of the 70s, my mum always got my feet measured for sensible shoes in the fancy Clarks machine.0

UPDATE in case it's of any help to anybody else, I have accidently found shoes that are really, really comfortable.
After trying a couple of the suggestions here which people kindly made but which didn't work for me, a friend uneartherd a pair of shoes she'd bought a couple of years ago, had never worn, and donated them to a good cause - ME!
These are an American brand I think, called "easyspirit", many styles available on Amazon (I've got a model called Hopalong with a closed toe - not that I'm actually doing much hopping!).
Size is true but I'd buy half a size larger if wearing socks. Lots of room in the toes and reasonable width.0
