Can somebody please recommend a pair of shoes that I can wear in the summer whilst waiting for a foot operation.

I need very thick, soft, spongy soles, and they must to be flat rather than "rocker" type.

During the winter the only thing I was able to wear with any comfort at all is a pair of Trimsole boots.

So if anyonne can suggest something I'd be able to wear on my feet that would go with skirts or trousers I'd be very grateful, especially if they are more in the 'budget' range!

Not that cheap unless you look on their sale pages, but Hotter shoes all have padded insoles and if you need it, most come in wide fittings also.

They have some flat loafers which could work with both skirts and trousers and also some flat t bars and mary janes which might work - depends upon your style.

Have you tried Skechers? They are lightweight and VERY comfortable..........although you might not want to pay £35.

Search for other colours or sizes if these don't suit:

I've tried Clogs, they're a no no, similarly the Hotters - both in various styles.

I tried a pair of the Skechers Go Walk this morning but the high instep was uncomfortable. I'll try to get to the SD store tomorrow and see if alternative Skechers will suit. I think the sole is better than the other two makes so fingers crossed.

I bought a pair of Sketchers memory foam 'flip flops' (Ones with out the bar between the big toe.) They're comfortable and cooling! (Although, as it's England, your boots will be fine to wear! :rotfl:)

    Good luck with your operation!

Not cheap but I couldn't be without my fitflop sneakers and they do do lots of different styles of shoe.

Many shoes you can pull out the insoles and put something else in. I would be tempted to try a pair of old school plimsoles/canvas shoes, maybe slightly large with a nice springy insole.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Thanks, that's certainly worth a thought.

I suffer with plantar fascitis and love my Fitflops. When I first got them I wore them as slippers and wear them most days outside now the better weather is here, even when walking the dogs. I also got a pair of gola memory foam shoes, I think that's what they're called, as they felt more comfortable than the sketchers and looked nicer. They're nice and comfy as well.
Good luck with the op, hope your not waiting too long for it.
