Heat is energy, energy cannot be destroyed. If a device creates cool on one side, it's by shifting the heat to the other. If it evaporatively cools a space, it increases humidity accordingly. There's simply no way to take the heat out of the air without putting it elsewhere (which is what air con does).

That said, any fan is a good thing, even moving warm air around helps increase evaporative cooling on the skin

I just like the pictures and the description:
Why is this very important bit hidden at the bottom of the small print and not shown on any of 4 pictures, including the one with the 'unit' standing in the middle of the room?rolleyes.gif
    :rotfl:
And it's not just some 'hose'. It's a hose with 10cm+ diameter that has to stick out of the window.

It looks like the hose is simply an option to save you having to empty the built-in tank. And is only collects water if you use the dehumidifying function.

    You are wrong.

"Hose Diameter: 13cm" and a "window kit" to empty the tank?!
In fact all such air conditioners have a hose for pumping out the hot air produced by the cooler. Otherwise instead of cooling it would heat the room with all its 890W(!) power - like all domestic fridges do.
