What is the appetite to accept debit cards out in Cancun?

Again, not sure about Cancun specifically but in general we found it more comfortable to use cash. The only things we paid for by card were the hotel, car hire and an upmarket restaurant. We spent a lot of time eating, drinking, shopping etc at small establishments that definitely did not accept cards.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

Pesos. Withdraw pesos in Mexico from an ATM (using a Halifax Clarity Card or similar) or exchange pounds before you go.

(Off topic I know, but Cancun is not a nice place at all and I wouldn't spend any more time there than you need to...further south or west you'll see more of the real Mexico and it's well worth exploring :))
If you want somebody you can trust...trust yourself
