refund of tax

Hi everybody.
Was hoping for some advice. Paid for a flight from the UK to Spain for 2 people and missed it.
I contacted the airline and asked if I could get a discount on a future flight and they said no.
But then I read that you can claim back tax.
I then went back to Jet2 on 0333 300 0042 and the operator said he has never heard of this and I would need to claim off my travel insurance.
He then sent me instant emails saying I was a "no show"
There is no way I could claim off insurance in my circumstances.
He told me to email customer.service@jet2.com about a refund.
If their helpline has never heard of this, do you think I stand much hope of anything back toward a forward booking. The total cost of the one way flight was £157.
Thanks in advance for advice....

Read about what they did to Mr Huzar and his family and what he had to do, also what they did to lewroll 'jet2 left me in the lurch', if you want your taxes you'll have to fight for them, can you be bothered?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Their website quite clearly tells you that you can write to them to claim APD if the ticket hasn't been used. Like lot's of airlines they charge an admin fee to process it though. As you were only flying to Spain the admin fee will be £1 less than the APD refund for 2 people.0

No red cars on my profile pic, anywhere, and never has been.
As I said, the website tells you that you can claim. Personally an airlines website would be my first port of call if I wanted to know something. It's usually more reliable than a call centre.0
