Betterware

Struggling to source other employment and have been pondering doing the Betterware. Getting mixed messages. Is it worth it? Would HMRC consider this self employment therefore able to claim Working Tax Credits

Are you considering coming off ESA or doing Permitted Work?

If you come off ESA then you can put in a claim for working tax credits if you meet the criteria for your age and circumstances.

You cannot claim WTC if you are on ESA.

These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.

Or better still do both...we are assuming the OP can drive and has a vehicle

I think you get less than 50p per delivery.

I'd get an insurance quote for working as a courier too before I even considered it.
Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.

A car would be the first thing needed.

Far more people earn a meaningful income through Hermes than through Betterware. You'll be pushed to stretch out Betterware to 16 hours, let alone more. It's fine for a top up income, but I wouldn't rely on it as a main source.

I use to work for betterware in their old Stanley house warehouse for many years. Started on Agency in August 2003. Taken on full time in December 2003. The company fell on hard times and I was sadly made redundant in May 2012.They have now moved to a smaller warehouse unit in Hurricane Park. A American Guy owns it now that also owns Kleeneze. To make good money delivering and collecting catalogues is very hard. Of course you have to deliver the goods too. When on the distribution team you are self employed and are required to declare all your own earnings. It's mainly commission based on what people order off your rounds. However when collect catalogues you are not allowed to pressure anybody into ordering. If found doing so they won't let you do the Job anymore.
