Lol. Years ago, on a trip to Germany, I had a small linguistic incident.....a bloke said to me (in German) "Would you like to go outside with me?"
I said no, because it was too cold.
He swiftly disappeared. And someone explained that what I'd actually said was "No thank-you, I'm frigid".
Um...not my best ever pulling line!

There's a stuffed bear in a pub at Loch Lomond?? Well there you go, then. You just need the business to be taken over by Spaniards, which could happen, so long as we sensibly stay in Europe, & you will be able to use your new phrase without even leaving the country! Magic!!

    Hi Sillygal,

On a Kindle Fire open a book and go to any page as though you were going to read it. Poke somewhere in th middle of the screen. Click on the three dots in the top right of the screen. Click Additional Settings. Move the slider next to Text-to-Speech to the right.

Now open a book and go to any page as though you were going to read it. Poke somewhere in the middle of the screen. Poke the right arrow at the bottom of the screen. Kindle will read to you.

Not all books allow you to access this feature, though. :(

    Good Afternoon All

Ally - Thanks for starting us off today, have a great holiday

Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.

Well we've had a great start to our weekend, we went out for breakfast (a real treat), DS went out to meet friends so DH and I went to "Ladybower" and had a lovely 3 mile walk in the sunshine - was fantastic and we've promised ourselves (and each other) to get out more. Today I/we will:

    Check Bank - Done
    Read -
    Pamper time -
Enter a few comps - Done a few
All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer - Done
Check https://www.freepostcodelottery.com - Remember there are now 5 chances to win - Done
    Check Lucky Phone/Ashleigh/Numberplatelotto - Done

Have a great day and weekend, love to you all!

    C x

    Also managed to do:

    Ironing
    Re-potted a plant
Sorted a few more bits out of the garage (wheelbarrow in car to go to stepson's tomorrow as well as a football trophy of his, a bag of clothes for eldest grandson and a bag of books for all grand-kiddies)
    Game of swingball with DH
    Made a scrabble art frame

Off to bed shortly as we want to set off early-ish to stepsons.

    Night all

    Hi June Jubilatants,

We're off to the airport later today.
Don't have much planned for today before we go. Get some rest and some sunshine mainly.

Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:

    * Home cooked breakfast.

    * Clean inside of car.

    * More free Spanish lessons from the free Duolingo Android App. (Link)

    * Polish off leftovers from fridge.

    * Downstairs will be cleaned with Stardrops and washable cloths.

    * Spent an hour getting bitten in the garden while weeding.

    How about you folks?
