Did you mean a Tesco savings a/c. I have 2 Tesco bank a/c but they don't allow DDs as far as I can see, but I'd be VERY happy if someone enlightened me differently.
Tesco CURRENT accounts don't allow DDs to pull money in.

Other Tesco accounts do offer this facility.

I've got 2 Tesco savings A/Cs, so has hubby now, but we only opened some of them for the DD facility (& to 'hold' money for transferring to monthly saver A/Cs)

I couldn't set up DD's on-line for the Tesco bank, no facility for it showing, you could be correct though, perhaps it's a telephone jobbie.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

If you go to your on-line Tesco savings account click on move money in then you can set up either a one off payment or set up direct debits, no need to telephone.

Yes, from the savings no problem, but from the bank A/C's there is no option to select DD. No highlighted bit there to click on.

    Hi guys,

I opened a Gocardless account today and called them to verify my account. They told me I cannot use my account in the way I want (to draw direct debits from my other accounts). They said it's designed for companies and that the verification team would verify my account for the purpose I want to use it for. They closed my account by mutual agreement.

If anyone has any other ideas on how I can set up direct debits please let me know! I'm desperately in search of 6 more! :)

You could always make some DD donations to charities if you are desperate.

https://www.charityline.org.uk/direct-debit/ - makes interesting reading

    What does the package include?
    50 direct debits processed
    0% commission on donations
    Two collection dates per month
Secure hosting of the CRM platform
Secure hosting of the online collection portal

    Only £70 per month!
Additional Direct Debits collected are charged at 39p

    It's very comprehensive

PS: It's not for the General Public - Charities only

    @frank777 £70/month OMG :o That's crazyness!
@Colsten Any recommendations? Also aren't there any e-magazines that I could sign up to for £1/month or even ways of paying into an internet retailer account via direct debit, after which I can shop from their website at a later date? There must be things like this available.

I've got till Sep 1st to find some DD's before I have to close down my Bank of Scotland accounts :p

Sorry, I don't know which charities you would like to support. Most are likely to offer to collect your donations by DD.

NSPCC and Water Aid would take £2 a month DDs.
