Not tagging winners on Twitter (keep checking for updates to see if you're a winner)

I've noticed an increasing number of companies on Twitter announcing winners without tagging them!
I went through about 20 retweets I had recently done to enter competitions and found 6 of them just posted a first and last name or posted the Twitter username, but without the "@" sign so the winner won't have got a notification through. Hopefully at least some of these companies are sending a DM to winners also
The Um Bongo competition had 50 winners which they have named in 2 photos for example, not sure whether they have also contacted the winners directly.

I had a spare few mins so tagged everyone (I think). I've had 3 wins in the last month where I have been announced on fb as the winner, yet I have only entered on twitter as I don't use fb anymore.
I'm lucky that other compers let me know otherwise I'd miss out on some decent wins x

social searcher is one i check regularly.
