Bt broadband

Hi there.
Went to Bt to negotiate a new contract only to find that there was a printing error on my original contract with a difference in price of £3.50 so I phoned Bt with the outcome being they agreed that it was a printing error on their part but refused to refund the difference. Question - can they do this with one saying that I should have spotted the error within the first couple of months. Me thinking it was the phone calls I made. I have in writing the contract showing the original contract price but upon adding up the charges and reductions there is an error. - Should I have added up the individual prices or gone with the total shown. I think it is there error so they should refund the difference. Your comments would be welcome.
