First time car hire... Insurance????

Heading to Ibiza and renting a car through Goldcar but I'm clueless about what Insurance to get. I cant cover the excess on any of my credit lines so I'm trying to figure out what I can do to get the excess to nil. Basically I want to be covered for collisions, break ins, and damage caused by debris on the road and animal/people passerbys. I bought Damage refund insurance through the company but that apparently isn't enough to drop down my excess. What are my best options? I am going for ten days so definitely need some kind of damage insurance.

Suggest you do a search on this Forum as Goldcar is constantly criticised, mainly for insurance, fuel and damage claims rip offs.0

Did you read any advice and reviews?

Honestly, I asked a specific question about the type of insurance that I need. Ive been looking all day to find the answer to that question and I obviously haven't had any luck so I certainly don't feel like sifting through more info when someone who is experienced with renting cars can give me a simple and straight forward answer in under a minute. Ive read the reviews and the advice, but as I said Ive never gone through the process of renting a car its obviously confusing without a candid answer since there seems to be a ridiculous amount of options for insurance. So I don't know which ones from the third party options will cover what I need.
Literally my question is: If I purchase a "car hire excess insurance" policy with a third party such as Leisure Guard will it be enough or would I need something more? Also if I don't have a credit card to check against the excess what means do I usually have to lower it?0 -
You're only option is to buy the ludicrously expensive Relax cover directly from Goldcar. Otherwise they will insist on a large deposit. Next time. ask before you book, not after.0

If you had read the Goldcar thread you would know what to expect. Personally I would try and cancel and find a better hire company, such as Avis etc, who usually don't try and rip you off.
As NiftyDigit states you're stuck with taking out Goldcars own extra cover insurance or having a very large hold put on your credit card, your choice.0
