Can your ex help you financially given that it was his actions that put you into this mess?0

No he has no intention of helping at all. Unfortunately.0 -
Their was also an insurance policy included with the phone, that was another point (it was a bundle so not separate) but becasue my daughter isn't 18 they said it was either a phone for me, or him, in which case we were financially linked and they had all the "evidence" they need.
Never mind that he is on a council tax bill elsewhere, that his business is registered and pays tax from the same address. My health is such at present I don't know if I have the fight left in me
I had a rude call from them today asking how much were in my accounts and that to avoid prosecution I should pay everyhting I have as a goodwill gesture. (Leaving me nothing to live off)
In view of the above, are you sure it's your Ex that they are linking you with ?
I doubt a single mobile phone contract for his own daughter would cause such drastic action from HMRC.0 -

I would make your council aware of the change in your income - because your tax credit income has reduced this may increase CTs & HB.
I have told them and am awaiting revised bills. I'm assuming they will be informed of last years decision and I will receive that bill too. I'm not going to apply for anyhting at present that could be clawed back by this decision until I appeal and see what happens. Should I contact dwp and explain?0 -

Yes it was defiantely him, they gave me his name at the beginning of their investigation. I assumed it was flagged by the mobile and the insurance they gave with it. It didn't help that the bills were in his name, they took the stance it was my phone or his, either way we are financially linked0 -

I don't have any idea about TC but I find it difficult to believe that such a simple mobile contract 'links' you both financially. It links him with his daughter but not him to you :huh:0 -
If I were you, I'd fight this all the way!
Contact CAB and see if they can help sort out this mess.0 -

I did contact cab when I first received the letter they told me to send off all the documents, and I did.
I thought I would speak to someone, I thought you got a caseworker or someone but no jsut a letter that they had reviews the documents and I should have been making a joint claim.
I'm now terrified of not only the tax credits repayments but the council tax and jsa.
I must recommend the concentrix diet though. I have lost so much weight with the worry!0 -
Do you get Child Support through CMS or is it an informal arrangement?0
-
He pays no child support directly to me, just buys the children things when they need them0
