  • Hello Verbatim, thank you for dropping in. I can definitely see why you are confused, I should probably update the signature as things have changed and unfortunately got marginally worse. To be honest i think there are lots of people having way more success's and progress, I always think this is helpful to me and factual but not inspiring. So hope its not too boring for anyone reading.

The loan officially ends in october, but I am very hopeful of a work bonus which would be around the same amount as the loan balance In march to pay it off and dump it. It just hangs on nothing catastrophic happening between now and january. It is touch and go with the brexit but still optimistic. I hope its not the 330. It is the worst of all my debts, makes life very hard and miserable, and I am never getting another one. This year has flown and i am really hoping march rolls round as quickly to be loan free and focus on the credit cards.

Ah I see. Thanks. Hope there's no early repayment penalty then.

Rubbish few days. But now I have basicly seem everyone and fulfilled a lot of obligations. December should be quieter. Up to payday 1 expensive day and 1 birthday. 1 lunch. Not much else.

First credit card needs to be paid off in the new year and the loan in march.
This will leave just 4 and I can not wait. I hope to feel a lot more in control by then.

  • Hey PSL,

This time is year is a nightmare for social things, I am the same.

    142 days till loans ends!

    Dxxx
  • It does all feel like a bit of a nightmare right now Dolly. 142 days. Its going down slowly. Its sort of tough till christmas. I am determined but not doing well.
Its the same people that tell me I am doing the right thing paying off credit card that ask me to go on holiday next year or to Christmas markets or theatre. I do want to go but need the money for other things.

£140 in bank and £130 in purse- but a few things coming up.
What a battle this is becoming without a credit card. I do have the overdraft but trying to pretend its not there. 15 days to payday. Its not too many. Loads going on right now, may not get to do many posts but its busyness not rubbishness.
    Trying hard everyday. Must improve.

  • oh hun, just hang in there. It is sadly always like this in november and december. Not just presents, but people somehow feel this need to "catch up before christmas" which extends into november. Maybe list out the various things you have on the cards then see which are really essential, which you really want to go to and which you can live without?

Can you do a trawl of your cupboards to eek out stores?

You may feel a bit of guilt initially at not going to stuff but once the event has passed you'll forget about it.

    Hang in there x

I love Christmas but it's tough. I've budgeted to a point but I didn't get my LBM till June time so I haven't quite saved enough to cover everything.

Luckily I have a few gift cards through surveys and a gift card from Amazon for taking out my sons mobile phone contract so I shall use this towards presents and food shopping.

I don't buy much but I'm hosting Christmas lunch this year so extra money for that.

You're doing great PSL and 2017 will be here before we know it
  • Aww thank you both. Kind words definately help. EVerybody does want to catch up and spend money. Its so ridiculous. Just because its Christmas. I have nothing social planned until next saturday 19th which I am quite pleased with. Less pleasing I am in overdraft but it is temporary and only by a little bit. £13 in direct debits left to be added too.

Not yet finished christmas and going to worry about that in december. Home tonight, much needed rest.
Food shop tommorow, not much else.
    Sunday with family then home.
Glad to be home tonight. Hoping december is quieter and going to put effort in to make it be.
