So , is it generally a good idea to get a full report and go from there OR if i have decided on a rewire now rather than 10-20 years time , best to just get quotes for that and get on with it?Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

If you are planning on doing a lot of work now and wish to avoid significant disruption and redecorating etc. in the future then it would be sensible to consider rewiring at this time.So , is it generally a good idea to get a full report and go from there OR if i have decided on a rewire now rather than 10-20 years time , best to just get quotes for that and get on with it?
A report on the condition of the installation would help to show the urgency or otherwise of doing this, but as I say if you are doing a lot of work now then it is probably good planning on your part to consider it now.0 -
I agree , i dont want to know than in 10-15 years time i will need to possibly find the money to do it all then , best to get it all done sooner than laterNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

If you are doing major work now then yes, rewire. If you can't afford it then wait, an inspection will keep you safe.
Many homes with PVC insulation have been going 50 years, I don't see many self igniting, ok, not the safest view but no manufacturer or body will claim 100 years life expectancy for 1 simple reason, possible litigation.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
