I wonder if the Capital One portfolio will also be sold off (or just shut up shop) as they seem to have been affected by the interchange cut too.

They have similar a (abeit more sub-prime) positioning.

I have never applied for a barclaycard and now have four due to grand sakes.

I have 4 and three of mine are through migration.

According to City AM newspaper, there are a few private equity firms also lining up for MBNA:

So what happens if Barclaycard buys them? I currently have a Barclaycard Amex/Visa combo which was originally an Egg card. I also have an MBNA card which was Amazon before. Would I get another Barclaycard? :rotfl: Or would they do something like consolidating both credit limits to my existing card combo?

I have 4 Barclaycards and 3 were through migration. The good thing is I get promo offers on them all each month and each one of the offers is different on each account.

Also the credit limits have never been reduced through migration. I would prefer they were the new owners rather than Lloyds.

Thanks for the clarification :) The only reason I still have the MBNA is because I never got round to closing it after it migrated from Amazon :rotfl: I'll see who buys them and if it's worth hanging onto it after that as it's got the lowest limit out the cards I have, so if it goes to Barclaycard, I'd quite like be able to just add the credit limit from MBNA to my existing Barclaycard rather than get a separate card.
