On some websites (e.g. YouTube), you can copy the URL, open VLC, hit CTRL+V to paste the URL into VLC, wait for it to load, hit CTRL+J (open codec info), select the "location" field, hit CTRL+A (select all) then CTRL+C (copy), go back to the web browser, paste the URL, right-click the video and choose "Save video as..." (or similar).
It's far easier to do than to explain!0 -

blueberry flashback express. now known as flashaback express.
http://www.flashbackrecorder.com/express
Records unlimited length, mouse clicks and audio.
One of the best free and unlimited recorders out there, but for heavens sake before using it record a youtube program/bbc and other streaming programs to get frame rate, and audio, and sound quality, and video converter correct.
Nothing more annoying after the fact having an unwatchable vid (or a black rectangle) and with no sound, or running out of disk space.
If you play with it days beforehand, you will find it is a great program. Keep the source flashback file (.fbr) when it asks you to save, even after conversion.
lots of setting, lots to go wrong0 -
Thank you for all the input.
I have now got more than enough to work out which one is the best to use for this recording. I will let you know how I get on,0 -
In the end I used Flashbackrecorder and found it very easy to use.

Quicktime can do a screen recording. You would need to record the audio separately though:j:j:j:j0
