compensation for diverted flights - easyjet

Hi
Have flicked through the forum and the guidance but am still confused if we are entitled to EU compensation or not. Would be grateful for any advice anyone can offer.
Our fight was schedued to leave Luton at 8.00pm and arrive at 9.10pm at Edinburgh.
We actually took off at 8.36 - we were told it was because there had been no ground crew to load the plane, even though the plane had been ready. Then we were told there was a problem with Edinburgh - it was foggy and the equipment at Edinburgh airport was out of order so our plane couldn't land. Then they changed their mind and said they had found us another run away at Edinburgh where we could land.
On the approach to Edin they announced they didn't have enough fuel to wait our turn and we were landing at Glasgow. We landed about 10.15pm but as there was apparently no buses to tranist us to the terminal, we then sat on the plane until 11.30. We were told there would be onward transport to take us to Edinburgh, but when we exited arrivals there was none. Eventually a bus arrived, and we made the 1 hour journey, finally arriving at Edinburgh at 1am - 3 hours 45 minutes late.
So I guess my question is - are we entitled to EU compensation? Our plane touched down at Glasgow only 1 hour late but that wasn't our final destination - and over all we were nearly 4 hours late. I did ask why the plane couldn't simply refuel and take us to Edinburgh, but was told it was because the crew only had enough flying hours left to do one more fight back to Luton and the plane and the crew needed to be in luton for the morning. Wasn't overly impressed with that as I sat with my exhuasted 4 year old

Best to start with Vauban's guide but it sounds like you had to divert to Glasgow due weather/ATC which does not qualify for compensation

You can try putting your flight number into one of the NWNF sites such as EUClaim to see whether they believe there is a claim or not based on the data held0 -
if it was weather every other plane landed... it wasn't weather per se - it was because the equipment on the ground wasn't working
or so they said

Thanks - I put it in EUclaim and it said we were entitled to compensation x0 -
