price of apples!

You might check on the label if you still have the packaging as they might have put in the wrong code and therefore charged you not for apples but for something more expensive. If they have and you still have the apples you might get a refund if you take them and the packaging back to the shop tomorrow.0

It was the right code, as it said Pink Lady apples on the receipt.
Looking at what they've charged for my other vegetables (52p for a small onion, 72p for 2 carrots!!) I would think there's either something wrong with their weighing scales or the cashier was leaning on the scales by accident.
Bit annoyed, to be honest, as it's the end of the month and we're really brassic at the moment.0 -

We live in a little rural town/village and we only have Co-ops locally. I really should get organised and stop shopping in there, though. I go into town about once a week, where I can get things much cheaper.0 -
If the store is close I would be tempted to weigh a few more things and go back and talk to the manager. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Blimey!
I just paid 39p for a kilo of carrots in a Liddly.
Apples shouldn't weigh very heavy in relation to their size because they're reckoned to contain 25% air, which is why they float so nicely.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I don't live near a Co-op so can't say if that sounds like their prices, but it's certainly expensive! Six organic apples in Lidl are just under £3...which is expensive compared to the rest of the apples in Lidl, but they're tasty
You could try phoning the store and asking the price per kilo of those apples, and say you think you were overcharged. If they're in the wrong, they might offer a voucher or something at least.

I would go back to the store, if it's not too far, and get your money back. No reason it should be in their pocket rather than yours, when it sounds like an error their end.0

Yes, with apple blossom on the trees, it is not formally UK season for apples.
*That* price? Please - go back & ask them to explain. Then post their answer here as I for one would love to read why they think that is reasonable. Or that there has clearly been an error & thank you for identifying it.0 -

They do good meal deals that are frozen that cost £5 - the last one we bought was a huge pizza, chicken goujons, wedges, garlic dough balls and a big tub of luxury ice cream. Think at the moment it is a lasagne, wedges, dough balls and a tub of ice cream. Ours also have great reductions at the end of the day.0
