The OP told us:
In my experience that is a worse case example. That's what the words up to mean....repair could take up to 28 days...
If the consumer is told it will take 28 days, and it is returned in (say) 14 days, the consumer thinks "wow, that was quick".

Sorry you feel my assertion is 'rediculous' and 'LOL' worthy.
There are various different ways of managing without a computer. Yours, and the OP's standards, do not come into it Its not a fridge, or a bed, or something vital to function. 28 days is the maximum time they will take to fix it. Its not unreasonable.
Just because you don't WANT to live without a computer for 28 days, does not mean its unreasonable to do so.0
