Advice needed about a texting scam

Last week I received a email which said it was from Argos offering me a chance to win a Argos gift card worth £500 . It said enter your tel number and you will be sent a question by text I entered my number and when I clicked on the link I received 2 texts one was with the question and an other saying that £5 had been deducted for my airtime balance I knew then that I had been scammed £5 and I said to myself that I will not get caught out again how wrong could I be

Yesterday I received another text which must have come from the same scammers which said

'' Free MSG . Sorry a service that you ordered from 65003 could not be delivered as you do not have sufficient credit please top up ''

Lucky for me I had no credit on my phone or I would have been scammed again . How do I stop these texts because if I top up my phone I know I will be scammed again and again

You stop the spam by never replying in the first place . Your number is now on the con me database as gullible .

Personally i would change my number .

I did not reply . I clicked on the link to see what the question was and had no intention of relying or answering the question but to see what the question was I had to enter my number and click on the link

As soon as you were scammed, you should have taken steps to end the subscription otherwise money is taken every week for the rest of time.

This is done either by sending STOP to the five-digit mobile shortcode or calling the company from the details found on the PhonepayPlus website.

Once you have ended the subscription complain to PhonepayPlus about the deceptive manner in which you were 'signed up'.

You use it and give it out in varying ways .
Buy a product sign up to this or that and address can be sold on .

You did. You gave them your number and permission by answering the email. One born every minute.

I have had the similar scam emails. I have won £500 from Argos or Morrisons. Except the email address i receive them on is my random junk one. I use it to sign up to sites and forums where you need to register to see the content. Nothing will have my real name etc.

I have never opened one to see what they actually put in the email. No way would i give out my phone number or text them.

I think the chances that your number will be passed on is very high. Change it or expect lots more temping offers in the future.
