:rotfl: Sweet! I may just have to purchase then!
  • I saw these in a Currys.digital shop today for £69.95 - and that's no typo

There was also a similar one, but in black and this was £39.95

It is £79.99 online for a brand new one and strangely P&P is an extra pound at £2.99.

I got one of these refurbs that cost £11.98 all in on Wednesday and it seems to work perfect, is in pretty much pristine condition and came with instructions, so a good deal all round.

  • I bought one of these when they were for sale at £21 from Currys. These were also reconditioned.
    Great set.
when I received mine it had stations that were previously tuned into stations not available in my area. Having read the operating guide I followed instructions to Prune Stations. Now I only have stations visible that are available for my region.

Finally, try and listen to the set via the mains supply as it 'drinks' batteries juice like I drink beer! Make sure you use quality alkaline batteries too.

All "DAB" sets drink batteries (scrolling displays), one reason why theve never really caught on. Also they are soon changing the Digital Format, so the current DAB radios will be obslete by 2010!

DONT connect speaker via the Headphone Socket I think that what u ment) LACKs Bass? on a tiny portable? fed mine to a hi fi via audio sockets-plenty of Bass.!PS i dont believe these are refurbished, as wouldnt the cabinets be marked? why would they bother to refurbish, then sell for £10?

On mine the cabinet was marked, scratched and covered in what looked like plaster dust! Not complaning at the price, but I did have to disassemble it to give it a good clean, including inside the display screen.

... I strongly suspect that the lazy DHL van driver didn't even try to find our house, but just wanted to get finished early.

I read this with a large dose of scepticism and doubt .... until I checked on DHL website and found that they had tried to deliver mine yesterday evening.

    In which case they either;

    a. use stealth camaflouge vehicles, invisible to the naked eye.
    b. tunnelled to our door, then (i) forgot to knock or (ii) leave note
    c. abseilled from stealth ( see a.) helicopter and then b.i. and b.ii.

We were outside in the front garden for a couple of hours around the time DHL supposedly called so now I'm a born-again sceptic!

Drives me nuts when delivery firms do that. Parcelforce are usually the worst culprites for doing this. I get it all the time because I live in a newish area which they seem to have difficulty finding. New being 4 years old!

Here they tend to put things through the cat flap - even if they seem to be a tight fit. Yesterday it was a Graphics card - drives the cats mad.

I once heard the letterbox clatter and a "Tried to deliver notice" was on the mat. I ran after the postman and told him I had not heard him ring and would take the parcel. He told me he did not have a parcel he was just delivering the "Tried to deliver" notices and I would have to collect it from the sorting office??
