Question about switching from BT to Virgin Media

I'm planning on switching from BT Infinity broadband to the Virgin Kahunna bundle. I have around a month to switch and i've had a text saying I need to pay around £380 exit fee from BT.

Do i need to pay the £380? I was told by Virgin that they would pay for the exit fee.

yes , you need to pay if you are still in contract to BT

  • I have been in a similar situation where unfortunately Virgin Media could not supply to the area I am moving to so I got hit with similar exit fees and no other supplier will pay for it as it is at a new address and not old but if BT have said they will, good for you!

Always check the contract duration and that your supplier is able to provide to 95% of areas. Had I checked when signing up, I would have decided otherwise.

Yes if you have received the BT price rise email and followed its instructions .

From BT price rise email .
You'll see the new prices on your first bill after 3 July 2016. If you want to change something or even leave, you'll need to give us 30 days' notice (or 14 days if you're switching provider), starting from the date we get your request. We won't charge you any increased prices during that time. And if you're within your minimum term and want to cancel, you'll need to give us a call within 30 days of getting this email to avoid paying a charge for leaving early.
  • Any questions about switching over to Virgin just give me a shout! Experienced engineer willing to answer your questions :P

I'm not in VM area but managed to cancel my sky free of charge due to price increase and switch over to BT>
