UKPC Court claim query

Hi guys,

Apologies in advance if the answer to my question is already floating around on another thread!

I had a parking ticket from UKPC back in April 2015 for parking on the pavement outside my apartment, this area isn't ticketed and has a 2 hour limit. As there was no spaces and I was moving in (i.e. unloading the vehicle) I parked on the pavement for 15-20minutes.

I sent a recorded letter (template from MSE) to them in July, stating the sum was disproprtionate (£160), along with references to a Formal challenge (popla), Drop hands and Breach of CCRs etc.
which they never responded to.

I've now had the CCJ form through which I've acknowledged for now to buy some more time, I have contacted the solicitior and informed them of the letter etc. They have acknowledged receipt of the letter but state it was received too late and outside of the stipulated timeframes.

I just wanted some advice on where I stand now and what to do next?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Many thanks,

Mitch

    You lost at court?

    Your solicitor told you that?

We need much more information. What do you mean by a 'CCJ form'? Whose solicitor are you corresponding with?

Sorry guys I wrote this briefly in a meeting earlier....

It was the County Court Claim form that I've received, you get 14 days to respond with your supposed action or you can just acknowledge and gain an extra 14 days to decide etc.

I contacted there solicitor regarding the letter I sent last year, he subsequently spoke to the client (UKPC) and relayed their response to me.

I don't understand this at all:

this area isn't ticketed and has a 2 hour limit. As there was no spaces and I was moving in (i.e. unloading the vehicle) I parked on the pavement for 15-20minutes.

Are you telling us that you parked somewhere where parking is not allowed, or you parked where there is a two-hour limit? Your explanations are very confusing.

Please just search 'UKPC defence' and read the ones submitted in March when UKPC had a flurry of claims. Most have not continued!

Copy and learn and cobble together your own version. Show us and we will critique it.

Also read 'Small Claim?' in the NEWBIES FAQS thread (ONLY the bit under 'Small Claim?' not all the stuff about appealing)! Read the links given there under that heading and digest bargepole's advice about what happens when and how to fill in the boxes on the paperwork.

    Dazster...

Apologies... I was just explaining that the limited spaces have a 2 hour limit, but I had to park on the pavement as none of these were available
