Hi :j
I have read this thread and can confirm that Admiral are increasing premiums because of speed awareness courses.
My sons first insurance policy arrived today with a letter to say that because they had identified that I had attended a speed awareness course the policy had been increased by £30 - an Admin fee. When he challenged this Admiral said that this has not been declared. As his mother we didn't think this had to be declared for his insurance. And to be honest because it avoided any points on my licence I didn't think it had to be declared at all. Am I wrong in this assumption??0 -
how did they "identify that I had attended a speed awareness course"
a course is not held on any records that are searchable by them , unless you told another insurance Co?Save a Rachael

If they ask, you have to declare it. AFAIK Admiral group are the only ones who do ask.
You said his premium had increased, but then said it was an admin fee. Which?0 -
if you told them when a quote was being calculated , it would be taken into account , confused cas states that the have increased they have now increased the quote because they have now "identified" a speed course , identified from where?Save a Rachael

As mentioned by others, it has to be declared if asked about.

Not unless you answer yes.0 -
"Publicly accessible records" can include social media, not many people think of that when they post about what they are up to e.g. Attending a speed awareness course....
Never underestimate how many software companies there are out there that sell products to big organisations to allow social media tracking. All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
B..b..b..but... I read on the internet that it was fine to lie to my insurance company about them because the insurers would never find out! Are you really saying that people on the internet aren't always right?"Publicly accessible records" can include social media, not many people think of that when they post about what they are up to e.g. Attending a speed awareness course....
