Today has been difficult.
Tomorrow is the day my Mum gets the results from her last scan, we will find out tomorrow whether her cancer is terminal.
Today we also found out my brother in law is seriously ill, in a hospital in Malaysia. We've been told immediate family need to get out there asap.
I now can't go with my Mum for her results as my in-laws are going to be sorting passports which haven't got enough time left for them to fly out to Malaysia. So my brother is taking my Mum and I feel terrible for not being there with them. I'm devastated by it all. It is what it is and it's all pretty rubbish and I'm struggling tonight.
Anyway, back to the finances, another £20 odd made today which I've added to my total for June. I've moved some of my extra income into my "DMP Overpayment Fund" which now sits at £121. Stepchange haven't updated the balance yet for the debt I've cleared and it's still showing as "pending", hopefully that'll get taken off soon, I've removed it from my total owing though in my signature.
I've hit a couple of surveys on swagbucks which has taken my total to 740, not long til I can redeem for £5.
Plodding on but struggling today.Making £1,000 plus every month from home :T0 -
This morning brought better news about my brother in law, he's talking normally and isn't confused now, he's adamant he's fine but the doctors are still awaiting results, they believe he's suffering from a virus which has attacked his brain.
I've spent a good hour crying this morning over my Mum, I feel terrible that I can't be with her today and I'm dreading the news that they can't treat her.
I've managed to earn £71 through a risk free casino offer I've done whilst little man is asleep which when it hits the bank will get added to the DMP Overpayment Fund so at least that's bumping up nicely now.
Going to tackle some housework now whilst he continues napping, tidy house tidy mind I guess!
No doubt I'll be back on rambling some more later.Making £1,000 plus every month from home :T0 -
Things are going a little better all round at the min.
Mum is being given 3 months worth of chemo with a view to shrinking the tumours and operating, she has 6 lesions on her liver though as well as the tumour in the bowel so it's by no means a guarantee and the chemo may not help. But it's a glimmer of hope.
My brother-in-law has viral meningitis which is obviously not great news but he seems to be responding well to treatment so fingers crossed for him beating it.
I've had a good few days matched betting and now have £401 in my DMP Overpayment fund. Having cleared the smallest Hsssbccc debt I'm moving onto the Pee Office smallest credit card debt now which is £1,230 ish. Stepchange haven't accepted that I've cleared the smallest debt yet, they left the £0 balance pending then returned it to £219, I've put it back to £0 and sent them an email, hopefully that'll suffice and they'll get confirmation from HSBC that it's cleared in full. I'm feeling fairly excited by the prospect of clearing the next one, I'm so desperate to get it all paid and move on with our lives without this horrible debt preventing us from doing things.
Work has been incredibly quiet this morning which suits me after a hectic week.
I need to update my June earnings now too.Making £1,000 plus every month from home :T0 -
I'm so up and down at the moment with so much going on that I feel as though I'm sinking at times.
Mum being poorly is so worrying and upsetting and it's taking over every aspect of my life. I'm exhausted from all the worrying and constantly thinking about it all, despite trying to keep myself busy.
I've hit a bit of a brick wall today. Had a huge row with the hubby, he can be pretty selfish and grumpy at times and normally I'll just rise above it and get on with things. At the moment though I'm so emotional anyway that I've told him to man up and stop being so needy - harsh!
The debt is really bothering me. It's like a weight hanging round my neck. It needs to go! I've got £400 to one side so far to make a payment but I don't know whether to just keep adding to that until I can clear one of the debts or ask Stepchange to take a lump sum and spread it between the creditors equally. I feel as though I just want to plough into it and pay the lump sum asap but not sure if that's the best way to deal with it or not!
Anyhoo I'm meant to be working now, but it's quiet so I'm hiding in the office and letting Mr Grumpy sort the kids out tonight. I've fed them and showered my daughter, he can do the rest, I need some quiet I think tonight.
Bleurgh, going to give my head a wobble and try to find some surveys I qualify for.Making £1,000 plus every month from home :T0 -
Finally got round to listing something on fleabay! I never seem to have much luck with selling on there but selling some cruising shoes which do seem to sell well on there so you never know!
Also relisted another item that didn't sell previously.
Plodding on I guess is the key. Feel exhausted tonight but going to try to get some swagbucks, so close to being able to cash out now.Making £1,000 plus every month from home :T0 -
Yet again there's uncertainty in our lives.
With my Mum about to start chemo and me living an hour away, I've been talking to hubby about maybe upping and moving nearer to her. He's mostly all for it but we have various issues standing in our way.
Firstly we're on a DMP, I think we'll struggle to pass estate agents credit checks which is a HUGE issue.
Then there's hubby's job, he'd probably have to commute for a few months while he applied for a transfer or found a new job. This is a price he's prepared to pay although I know that in reality he would find it difficult.
Upheaval for the kids. We've started to discuss the possibility of moving with the children and initially the eldest was upset but within 24 hours he's done a complete U-turn and come to terms with it! He says it's ok as he can skype his friends
Childcare - the in-laws currently look after little man when I'm working, although my Dad would be able to help with this if we moved as he lives close (ish) to Mum. I do also work with little man with me sometimes too which isn't ideal but do-able.
Aaaargh! So many issues to think about, going round in circles with it all at the moment.Making £1,000 plus every month from home :T0 -
Seems like there's loads going on at the min!
One of the items listed on fleabay has a bid - woohoo! It's only 99p but still it's 99p I wouldn't have had otherwise :T Two more days to run so it may attract a few pence more yet.
We've been scouring the rental pages looking for suitable properties too. Where we want to actually move to is looking too expensive. But 7 miles up the road is within our budget for a nice 3 bed house. We just need to weigh up the distance and how it impacts on childcare when I need to run Mum to an appointment.
Feeling a little more positive about going through an agency and passing the credit checks. It's been worrying me silly that we'll fail them due to the defaults on our accounts. But I've read numerous times that agencies cannot access that information and so we "should" be fine.
Worked this morning then as part of operation "clear out the junk" before we move, returned a travel cot to a friend and stayed for a coffee and a much needed catch up.
I picked up one of those shove in the oven pasta things for tea. Just picked eldest up from after school sports and we now have a small window between getting him to cubs and me starting work so quick meals are called for on Thursdays.
Money wise we're preparing for a new month. Hubby's wages are sitting in the "bills" account ready for all the ginormous bills that will come out tomorrow. My wages will get paid tomorrow and will be used for food, petrol etc along with tax credits for the month. We still have £85 left over from June's budget so this will get transferred to the DMP overpayment fund. I'm more than expecting that this fund will get eaten into though as and when we move with fees and deposit needing paying but needs must!Making £1,000 plus every month from home :T0 -
Today was meant to be dancing with Little Miss this morning and a food shop this afternoon. However Little Miss and youngest little man are both full of colds and feeling lousy. It's been absolutely pouring down here so we're in the warm with the heating on playing with lego today.
Yesterday I had a great day matched betting which really set me off to a fab start for my extra earnings for July. I made £378.21! Really chuffed with that! That'll pay for a washing machine when we move!
Fleabay auction finishes later, still only have one 99p bid but it all helps!
Also, asked Mum if we can borrow her shredder, we've got a drawer full of paperwork we don't need. This is part of clearing all the crap ready to move!
Kids are playing happily for a bit so going to spend a little time online clicking and surveying I think. Youngest is very clingy though today which is unlike him so may not get much done when he realises he's not on my knee! :rotfl:Making £1,000 plus every month from home :T0 -
Hi!
It's great to read your diary. Well done with the matched betting. I started a few months back but kind of forgot about it. I've never made as much as you in one day though. Do you do it all yourself or use a site for help?
I hope everything works out for you regarding the move and sorry to hear your mum is so poorly.
It sounds tough going at the moment but seems like you're doing great.
There's nothing better than a lazy day in sometimes.

Hi!
Sounds like you are making good progress. I have a question, what is matched betting and how do you make money from it?
Thanks0
