Someone hit my parked car

Sorry mate but you have to let it go, especially assuming you are not driving a Ferrari or something. I bought a relatively new car an 3 times it has been damaged whilst parked. Dent in the door from someone opening there car onto it, mirror and casing knocked off (good thing no one ran over it) and then someone smashing into the back, taking out one of the fog lights.
I was so annoyed at the first incident as it was literally within the first week of me getting the car. Now, I just don't care. It gets me from A to B and that's all I need.
It's like buying a new phone or tablet. First few months or so you are treating it like a new born child; carefully placing it down, having a case and screen protector etc. Then after a while you just stop caring as much.0 -
This is frustrating when this happens.
I had a similar thing happen in a multi-storey. Guy parked close to me and messed up the side of my car. I had pictures etc, but without witnesses there was nothing I could do. I did find out his insurance company and reported it so not sure if they will do anything on his renewal??0 -

"Technically you should be going to them and reporting it in person, not phoning"
Why? Since when has it been necessary to report a crime in person?

It has been reported "to a constable" by phone so wholly acceptable.0
